About Me

My photo
Clayton here. Here is a little about me. My favorite color is orange. I wish everything in my life was orange. Including my car and phone. (R.I.P.) I love text messaging and don't really like talking on the phone. My favorite drink in the entire world is Dr. Pepper. I'm pretty sure God gave it to the world because he loves us. (Add a little coconut rum, it makes it even better. If that's even possible.) I work in Human Resources at a hotel in downtown SLC. I'm addicted to reality TV. Especially Survivor, American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance. I love Mr. Potato Head, as you can probably tell. What else... Oh yeah I'm gay and have an AMAZING husband, Paul. ILY!!

Excel Hell

So I'm sure that everyone has been to a party when an overly-confident, very-talkative, know-it-all tool walks in and starts trying to prove his intelligent to impress a pretty girl. You spend the rest of the night imagining this dude's head will swallow itself and save everyone at the party from his jabbering non-sense. The ray of sunshine about this situation is that you know the pretty girl won't fall for this guy and you'll never have to see him again. Well my nightmare has come back to haunt me. That annoying guy is now teaching the Excel class I took for work. I get to spend 8 hours with him today while he does what he loves most...listen to himself talk. I'm about ready to rush to the front of the room and introduce his face to the whiteboard.

Newest addition

We finally got around to hanging the set of pictures that I got for Paul for Christmas. We have been meaning to do it for a while and finally ended up doing it on Saturday night. Then last night while we were enjoying Heroes we heard a terrible crashing sound and rushed into the bedroom to find the one furthest to the left and come off the wall. See we hung them with 3M picture hanging strips so as to not put too many holes in the wall...well we didn't peel the paper off the back of the pictures and the paper wasn't strong enough to hold the picture to the wall. We took down the rest of them and now we are back to square one. We need to buy more 3M strips and peel the paper off the back before we try again.

HAPPY FAT TUESDAY!!

In honor of Mardi Gras and Fat Tuesday I thought I would post pics of the masks I made last week. Originally we were going to go to a Mardi Gras party on Friday night so I busted my ass to get our masks done and then we didn't even use them. Oh well I think they are really cool and maybe we'll get to use them some other time.

Keys on Main

On Friday night last week Paul and I joined some friends for a good time at Keys on Main. If you are not familiar with Keys on Main it is a dualing piano bar. It was so much fun. The concept is this, people request songs by writing them on pieces of paper and handing them to the piano guys with money as incentive to play their song. You can give any amount. The piano guys play songs in the order of highest amount to lowest. If they start a song that is horrible anyone can pay to get them to stop playing it. You just have to give atleast one dollar more than the person who asked for the song. The original requester can buy their song back by out paying the person who killed their song. They play a lot of songs. It was really fun to sing along and laugh with friends. Enjoying ourselves at Keys on Main!!
Our friends Paige and Mandy.

3 of 12

Last night on American Idol the first 3 of the top 12 were announced. Michael Sarver, Alexis Grace and Danny Gokey. I was very happy with the results especially because Tatianna didn't get through. She was just too much to handle.

My New Blogging Adventure!!

I have started another blog for anyone who might be interested. It is called the Adventures of Mr. Potato Head. Check it out if you want. I'm kind of excited about it!!

Seriously cool

Ok so my last post was about something not so awesome about my job. I'm seriously grateful that I even have a job in these tough times. At work we are getting ready for a huge event next month and I ordered these specialized glasses to use at our closing night party. I think they are awesome!! I hope there is one left over so I can take it home!

I got a new computer...

at work. I was out of the office on Friday learning to ski, more to come on that, and when I got back in on Monday I had a brand new computer. It's pretty cool. I love the wide flat screen. And my Potato Heads feel right at home with it. (Yes I am looking at a rental car website, my boss needed one.)
