About Me

My photo
Clayton here. Here is a little about me. My favorite color is orange. I wish everything in my life was orange. Including my car and phone. (R.I.P.) I love text messaging and don't really like talking on the phone. My favorite drink in the entire world is Dr. Pepper. I'm pretty sure God gave it to the world because he loves us. (Add a little coconut rum, it makes it even better. If that's even possible.) I work in Human Resources at a hotel in downtown SLC. I'm addicted to reality TV. Especially Survivor, American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance. I love Mr. Potato Head, as you can probably tell. What else... Oh yeah I'm gay and have an AMAZING husband, Paul. ILY!!

Motorola Motozine

I have been a long time fan of Motorola phones. They really won me over when they released the orange Pebl. I was in love for the longest time unti the spring that opened the cover broke. Now Motorola has done it again. They have released the new Motozine. It has a 5 mega pixel camera with Kodak technology built in. Just think how much cooler my blog could be if I have a camera phone like this. Unfortuneately it cost like $250 bucks and I can't afford it. I think it is time to start saving my pennies. And if anyone would like to contribute to a Make-Clayton's-blog-cooler-by-buying-him-a-new-AWESOME-phone Fund then I certainly would not complain.

Um, that's a problem

Up until today I have taken child-proof caps on pill bottles for granted. It's always so annoying to have to fiddle with the stupid little secruity devices just to get a little relief for a migraine. A while back Paul took me to a whole foods store into the natural medicine section to have me get some homeopathic migraine relief. (I think he thinks I take too many painkillers.) So I got this tiny little bottle of natural something that is supposed to relieve migraines. It works better for preventing them if you take two during the very early stages of a migraine onset. And the best part is that because it is all natural, it isn't harmful and there is no real threat of overdosing, so it doesn't have a child-proof cap on it. Well this morning I found myself with a full on migraine so I decided to go for the strong stuff and started searching through my bag for my Excedrin Migraine. I always just shove one hand in and search blindly until my hand finds the all too familiar shape of the bottle. Today however my hand discovered the tiny bottle of natural pills first and noticed a crucial part was missing...THE LID!!! I quickly emptied the contents of my bag onto my desk and the picture below is what I found. Yeah that's right. The entire bottle of tiny little natural pills lined the bottom crevices of my bag. So now there is a slight dusting of crushed homeopathic migraine relief on everything that belongs in the black hole that is my bag. I snapped a picture for blogging purposes and then proceeded to pick each and every dusty little pill out of my bag and replace it into the tiny little bottle that is its original home. And no I didn't throw the bottle away. Aside from a little lint there is nothing residing in my bag that would be harmful if consumed. So I think child-proof caps should instead be called keep-the-pills-in-the-bottle-and-not-in-the-bottom-of-your-bag caps. Does anyone second the motion?

FANTA FANTA!!

Everyone knows who the Fanta Girls are, right? If you don't that is just sad and you should google them or something. Here is the point of my post. When Kylie and I go to Disneyland we have to drink orange Fanta because they don't serve Dr. Pepper or Mountain Dew. Everytime we fill up our cups with orange Fanta we sing the "Fanta Fanta" song. Kylie said in a tape she made for me that everytime she has orange Fanta now that the song plays in her head and she thinks of me. (Brainwashed? I think so!) So on Sunday at my parents house Paul was drinking his warm (I know, gross) orange Fanta and said, "Do you know what I'm thinking?" And I immediately knew he was referring to Kylie and me singing Fanta Fanta in Disneyland. So we decided to commemorate the moment (not like in the Sonic commercial) by taking a picture. Here we all are holding our Fanta cans.
And just in case you could tell what they were, here is the close up. Kylie, here's to you!!
"Fanta Fanta!! Don't you wanna Fanta Fanta?"

Worth the Pain

Yesterday I went back under the needle. I decided it was time to add my tribute to my cousin Stephanie and to my dad.
My cousin Stephanie battled breast cancer but lost. I remember being in the 4th grade when Steph was enlisted in the service and we would write each other letters back and forth. It was fun being her pen-pal.
My dad is currenly in remission from Lymphoma. His type of Lymphoma is not curable and will come back eventually. Hopefully much later rather than sooner. We like seeing him with hair while he can still have it.

Jackson Hole

Right now I HATE JACKSON HOLE!! Paul works as a personal banker for Wells Fargo and they sent him to Jackson Hole to train in a newly purchased branch. He's been gone since Sunday morning and I have been going out of my mind with out him. Sitting alone at home all the time sucks. And nothing is worse than a big cold lonely bed. I have resorted to sleeping on my side facing the wall so that it isn't quite so obvious that no one else is there.

On the bright side I think I am going to take a half day on Friday and make the 5 hour drive to Jackson Hole and then bring him home on Saturday. Technically he has a plane ticket for Saturday morning but he doesn't have to get on the plane. So by this weekend I might love Jackson Hole. Only time will tell.

Halloween Costumes

Halloween has come and gone and actually I'm relieved. Halloween is Paul's favorite holiday and so I wanted to make sure he had as much fun as possible. I suggested that we, along with my friend Karri, dress up as Lock, Shock, and Barrel from Nightmare Before Christmas. I spent tons of time stressing over and creating the 3 masks that are essentially the signature pieces for these costumes. Not only that but I had to create Paul's skeleton costume. He had the idea to attach a glow in the dark plastic skeleton to his clothes. (Easier said than done.) We ended up having to get a hand saw from my parents house in order to cut the skeleton into separate bones. Then we hot-glued the upper body to the black t-shirt and I had stitched the bones of the legs on to the black lounge pants we bought. Paul mentioned that he wanted to enter the costume contest at the club we were planning to go to which only added to the pressure of creating good costumes. Not only did we need masks but we also had to paint our faces according to the movie.
Here are the close ups of the individual masks. And incase you don't know which is which...
Lock is the devil, Shock is the witch and Barrel is the skeleton.

We had fun even if we didn't enter the costume contest.
